Nike is known for not only being ahead of the game but supporting the leaders in all arenas–including artists. For their latest project, Nike is asking artists from all over the world what it means to be free in the cities where they live. Through exploration and creative expression, they proved that freedom is a state of mind, a way to approach every aspect of life, as well as a way to run.
For the Shanghai-based artist, Ton Mak, she embraces every part of life in the city, including the imperfect parts. Shanghai is always growing and changing and requires it’s inhabitants to go with the flow of things. Mak’s art, Flabjacks, represents the freedom and beauty that come from making mistakes in an imperfect world. In collaboration with Nike, Flabjacks re-imagined the Nike FREE RN, available starting April 12. Check out the shoes above!
