Women started wearing menswear as far back as the 1920’s. Now in 2017, men are starting to reciprocate, as reported recently by Vogue.
Not only have fashion designers begun creating designs for no specified gender, men have also been seeking out pieces that would traditionally be viewed as womenswear. Marc Jacobs recently posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing his own label– from the women’s Spring 2016 runway show. Jacobs has also been spotted wearing women’s pieces from Miuccia Prada and Rei Kawakubo. Meanwhile, Chanel produces larger sizes in both its shoes and jackets, and even posted a video recently of Pharrell Williams trying them on. Brands like Gucci and Vetements have been showing their designs on both men and women, simply because they believe everyone looks great in them.
