Rapper, fashion designer, and now philosopher? In the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter, Kanye West interviewed interior designer Axel Vervoordt to discuss art, fashion, and ego. During the conversation, the Life of Pablo singer revealed that he is working on a philosophy book. According to West, the book will be titled Break the Simulation and will delve into the way photographs “overtake” humans.
Kanye also said the appointing of Virgil Abloh to creative director at Louis Vuitton was a heavy concept he couldn’t get out of his head. “Because [Abloh and I] have been fighting to make apparel at a certain price that still has the same credibility and desirability as something at a higher price… But when they say he was my creative director, that’s incorrect,” Kanye said. “He was a creative collaborator.”
Kanye also revealed that it is no longer his desire to strive to be number one. He hinted that he might even want to get involved more with organizations like UNICEF.
