The latest New York Times Magazine, titled “25 Songs That Tell Us Where Music Is Going,” features 2017’s breakout superstars. Namely, Cardi B and SZA. The two ladies are an obvious choice for the cover, given that each made monumental strides in their music careers within the last year. Cardi B spent three weeks at number one on Billboard’s “Hot 100” charts with her smash hit “Bodak Yellow,” which also comes in at number one on The New York Times Magazine‘s list. SZA’s first studio album, CTRL, went platinum and her single “Drew Barrymore” made the magazine’s list at number seven.
Other notable hits include Katy Perry’s “Chained to The Rhythm” and Charli XCX’s “Out of My Head” feat. Tove Lo. You can check out the cover photos above!
